Our Open Channel Radar Flow Meters are the quality-proven and Mcerts-approved Vegapuls models. Used for non-contact level measurement of liquids and bulk solids, the sensors measure both light and heavy bulk solids with absolute reliability. The meters are designed to be used alongside flumes/weirs in a fully-designed flow system, emitting a continuous radar signal – via the antenna system – that is reflected on the surface of the liquid to produce an echo to determine the height of the liquid as it flows through the flume or weir. The meter then calculates the level of liquid using the running time of the microwave signals and the entered tank height.
Used alongside the Vegamet Controller, these non-contact radar flow meters use 80GhZ technology to allow specific focusing of the radar beam and a wide dynamic range of radar sensors.
High level of measurement accuracy
Suitable for aggressive liquids and capable of measuring both light and heavy bulk solids without loss of accuracy or reliability
Not affected by temperature, dust or pressure
Maintenance-free sensors
User-friendly adjustment without vessel filling and emptying
Models can be used in applications such as water processing, pump stations, storm water overflow tanks and flow measurement in open flumes
Open channel flow measurement devices are the preferred method of measuring flow rate (gauged head) through an open channel hydraulic structure, such as a flume or v-notch weir. All our flow meters are MCERTS-compliant and designed stand the test of time – providing you with ongoing accurate and reliable results.
Due to their out of water positioning, open channel radar flow meter sensors are simple to clean and maintain – even in hazardous areas.
SIRIS open channel flow measurement devices carry MCERTS accreditation so you can be confident that the data provided is reliable and accurate and will provide accurate and reliable long-term flow measurement.
Our open channel flow measurement devices are designed to meet with relevant regulatory discharge and MCERTS requirements.
We pride ourselves in offering a bespoke service to all of our clients. Our design and installation process ensures we provide you with a cost-effective solution tailored to suit your site’s individual requirements.
When you first contact SIRIS, our friendly team will be on hand to take your enquiry and assess your needs. We know that every site has different requirements, so we’ll work closely with you to understand your individual needs.
At this stage our wastewater management experts will provide a tailored quote for your system. For most sites we can do this using photographs, however for larger or more complicated sites we will arrange to visit you and assess it in person. If MCERTS is required we will ensure we develop a system that is fully compliant
Our team will assemble your bespoke system at our dedicated facility. We’ll also pre-calibrate any equipment that can be commissioned off-site.
We will arrange for your equipment to be delivered directly to site and liaise with your chosen contractor to advise on installation requirements. Depending on the project, we may also attend site to assist with the installation process.
Our specialist engineers will attend site to commission your equipment and check it’s working correctly. We’ll also go through your new system with you and answer any questions you have. Once we’ve completed the calibration we will be able to issue you with a CalCert which allows you to prove your site is fully compliant to auditors.
Our team is always on hand to support with any queries or teething problems you may be experiencing. For most sites we also recommend a bi-annual servicing package to ensure your equipment continues to function correctly.
All SIRIS products can be used with our data monitoring software, Palette, however they are also compatible with your existing SCADA system. Our expert team is committed to working in partnership with our customers to meet their individual requirements and ensure our products fit seamlessly into each site.
